Policy & Forms
Required Lesson Forms
Our 2019 fall lesson schedule will begin forming on August 1. Lessons will begin after Labor Day.
How to get started:
Beginners and riders new to Ashford are required to start with private lessons before riding with a group. Our beginner groups consist of 3-4 riders, allowing students to visually progress faster and learn to control their horses.
For our more advanced riders, group lessons consist of only 5-6 riders. This ensures that each rider gets the focus that they need from our qualified instructors. Private lessons are offered on an as needed basis.
How it works:
Group lessons packages are good for one year and non-refundable. Lesson credits are deducted as lessons are taken. Students who cancel or fail to attend three consecutive lessons risk losing their spot in their scheduled lesson. Group lessons can also be paid for on a lesson by lesson basis.
Inclimate Weather Policy:
Please call the barn in the case of rain or questionable weather conditions to see if we are riding. You can also check our social media pages.
WE REQUIRE A 24 NOTICE FOR LESSON CANCELLATIONS (UNLESS THERE IS AN EMERGENCY). FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN FULL CHARGE FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT.
What to wear:
For riders new to Ashford, we have riding helmets that may be borrowed for the first few lessons. However, we require that a rider purchase their own helmet and riding boots by the time they enter into group lessons. We also recommend riding pants or jeans and half chaps.
Make sure to purchase a non-adjustable helmet, this type of helmet is the safest for your head! A few good brands are Tipperary Sportage, IRH, Charles Owens, and GPA. Please have a sales associate help you find the perfect fit.
Where to buy equipment:
For all of your riding equipment needs, we highly recommend Bucks County Saddlery. We have been loyal customers of this family run business for many years. They have a knowledgeable staff who are involved in all aspects of the equine industry. Please take your business to them first.
