Yoga Classes this Fall

Caroline CanavanComment

Balance and core stability are some of the building blocks of a good rider.

We encourage our students to enroll in our rider Yoga classes, offered on Sundays at 3:00 starting mid-October.  You will notice an improvement in your riding by the third class!  Sign up in the office today and get all the details.

Transform into a longer, leaner, more supple and stable self! This class embodies postures and inspiration from yoga, functional training, and pilates that focuses on the powerhouse muscles of the core. This class will tone thighs, hips, and glutes, while strengthening the back, arms, and abdominal muscles.

Summer Camp Week 8

Caroline CanavanComment

Our last week of camp has come to an end. Parents day went great with lots of happy campers and parents!  There were lots of delicious treats at our picnic (thank you parents and campers!).

We want to thank everyone who attended camp in 2015 and their families. We hope everyone had a great time and grew as riders and horsemen and women. Fall riding lessons start on September 1, give us a call or email to set up your lessons.

Summer camp week 7

We had a great weather week at camp, beautiful 80 degree days all week! The horses are staying energetic and we had a great group of newbie campers join us at Ashford Farm. We hope this is their first summer of many more to come. Lots of firsts for many of the campers this week.... First time cantering, first time bareback riding, lots of great milestones.

Next week is our last week of 2015 summer camp, parents day is on Friday and then the staff and horses are taking a little vacation before fall lessons start up!

Summer camp week 6

We can't believe that 6 weeks have already gone by. We had a great group of campers during the past 2 weeks and we were sorry to see some of them leave on Friday. Hopefully everyone will be back for lessons this Fall!

Mr. Bill and Megan took a few campers to the Thursday morning show series at Bucks County Horse Park. Savannah on Toby, Lily W. On Fleur, and Emma on Rocky represented Ashford Farm and took home some ribbons!

We had a super fun day at camp on Thursday. Riding lessons and art in the morning, kickball, Bingo, giant slip n slide, pizza party, horseshoe art, giant bouncy house, ice cream party and a sleep out with movie on a beautiful full (almost) moon evening.

Friday brought a great gymkhana! One of the best ever in my opinion. Enjoy the pictures and think happy thoughts for us during our last two weeks of summer camp.

Summer Camp week 5

Caroline CanavanComment

We started off our fifth week of camp with a bit of a heatwave. Temperatures were in the mid 90s on Monday and Tuesday, thankfully we had some cloud cover and breezes that made lessons bearable!

Some of the lessons worked on riding in the fields, while others learned to canter and jump for the first time ever! Our ponies and horses are the absolute best, thank goodness for great lesson horses! They are worth their weight in gold to their instructors.

Summer Camp week 4

The fourth week of day camp this summer brought our first rainy camp day.  With riding impossible we decided to host our grooming and tacking class for the horse show a few days early.  Everyone was assigned a partner and a horse and they had 2 hours to fully show groom, braid, and clean their tack for presentation. Mr. Bill judged our advanced group and chose Clint's team of Audrey and Gabby as the winners. He was beautifully turned out and braided. Megan judged the beginner and intermediate group in which Blue's team of Lydia and Nora won! Congrats to everyone.

Friday brought the camp horse show where all of our campers were able to show off the skills they have been working on all summer to their family and friends. We will miss all of our campers who are done for the summer and are looking forward to having a new group of campers join us this Monday!

Enjoy the pictures from week 4 and don't forget to follow us on socia media!

Summer Camp week 3

Caroline CanavanComment

We had an exciting week of day camp at Ashford.  Thursday was our camp field trip to Dorney Park, we rode in the morning, ate lunch and loaded up onto a school bus for a great afternoon of rides! We missed the rainstorm during a group dinner at Chickies and Petes then headed back to Ashford for our sleepover.

Two out of the three tents got wet in the strong storms, so most of us ended up sleeping in one of the buildings with warm and dry blankets provided by Caroline and Andrea, always an adventure!!

Friday was super fun with lots of bareback riding and switchies. Can't wait to see what next week brings, camp horse show is Friday!
