Our Instructors

Megan Canavan

Megan grew up with horses. She began riding at the age of 3 (when she wasn't napping on the back of a pony in her mother's lesson ring.) Megan rides horses, trains horses and has competed on horses at the Virginia Horse Center and at Devon. Even her other car is a horse. She is lead instructor for advanced students.  Her son, Codey, is taking after his mom's footsteps with riding. He even has his own pony, Mr. T, but if you ask him, ALL the ponies are his!

Madeline Brown

Maddie started riding at Ashford at the age of 9. She attended both Ashford and New Meadow Farm camps for many years. She received her bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Pittsburgh.  She is the proud owner of Clementine, a mare that she competes year round on in eventing, hunters, and pace events.  The cute Jack Russell Miller calls her mom as well!  Maddie teaches our beginner and intermediate students.

Linda Brown

Linda owns Clint Black, and generously lets us use him for lessons. He is a favorite of many of our students! Linda started riding at Ashford as an adult.  Her daughter, Maddie, works at Ashford full time.  She works for the School District of Philadelphia as a Head Start teacher.

Nina McMenamin

Nina grew up riding at Ashford Farm and enjoys teaching the importance of a strong foundation to her students just as she learned from Caroline & Bill.  She makes sure her students are having fun and learning something new in every lesson, no matter the level.  Working as a tax analyst at IKEA keeps her busy during the week, but she always finds time to ride after work and on the weekends.
